David Tobin is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black belt under Braulio Estima and Lee Catling. He has medalled multiple times at a national level, including earning gold as a brown belt and bronze as a black belt in the English Open.  He has trained with Braulio Estima, Royce Gracie and Marc Walder to name a few. David takes a friendly and relaxed approach to teaching all aspects of BJJ, Submission wrestling and self defence.

David has 28 years of martial arts experience under his belt.  He started training in Wado Ryu Karate at the age of 5 years old and teaching at the age of 12 under his Dad and 4th degree Karate Black Belt Joe Tobin. He went on to train as an amateur boxer and kickboxer in his teenage years. When he reached the age of 24 he realized there was something missing in his training.  He stumbled across a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club ran by Marc Walder and the rest is history.
David truly fell in love with the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and today he passes his passion on to his students at GB havering. He received his black belt in 2014 from world renown BJJ legend Braulio Estima and continues to compete under his tutelage.  He welcomes everyone at the academy to train regardless of age or ability.

Craig has been training Jiu Jitsu at GB Havering for 5 years and in this time has put in thousands of hours of mat time.  He is well known for his very technical style.  Craig is an active and very successful competitor as well as a stand out Jiu Jitsu teacher.  Craig runs our NOGI classes on Saturday mornings.

Gary is a very well rounded Jiu Jitsu practitioner with plenty of mat time under his belt.  He is known for having a very good way with the kids as he is a father himself, therefore helps to generate a fun yet disciplined and safe environment for the kids to train in.

 

Lee Catling

Lee Catling started training at the age of 8 in the art of Tang Soo Do under Master Loke, after 4years of training lee started training Wing Chun Kung Fu becoming a instructor for the UKWCKFA, needing competition Lee turned to boxing winning two titles Essex novice and the ABA title.Lee started training in judo in 1992 gaining he's black belt from Ron Meader in 2000, around this time Lee went to a seminar run by Braulio Estima and was hooked on the art of Brazilian Jiujitsu . Training under Braulio Lee has become a black belt and head instructor of Gracie Barra Essex and now is head jiujitsu and MMA coach for the Ministry of Martial Arts.

Now training and teaching full-time Lee is passing on he's knowledge and passion for BJJ and MMA, training many local and international champions. Lee actively coaches David and aids his preparation for BJJ competition.

Braulio Estima

Braulio is the head instructor and owner of the Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Birmingham, England. The club is called Gracie Barra Birmingham and is based out of Birmingham City Centre in Birmingham, England. Braulio runs the academy with the help of his brother Victor Estima and Otavio Souza, both of whom are also world class black belts.

Braulio is responsible for the instruction of many of the UK's top grapplers on the current scene such as Kevin Webb, Luke Costello, Chiu Kwong Man, Michael Dean, Rob Stevens, Norby and Stephen Martin. Braulio is currently training for his mixed martial arts debut. MMA organization Shine Fights has signed him to a multi-fight deal.

In 2011, Georges St-Pierre invited Braulio Estima to become one of his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu coaches
